Plan your week with AI

A simple, real thing you can do with AI in ten minutes — turn a messy list of everything on your plate into a calm, ordered week. Copy the prompts and follow along.

Free, and free of a catch. See the whole library.

Why this one is a good first go

If you have never really used AI for something practical, this is a gentle place to start. There is nothing to get wrong, nothing to check for accuracy, and you end up with something genuinely useful: a plan for your week. It also shows you the core move behind almost everything — get everything out of your head, then let AI help you make sense of it.

Step 1 — Empty your head

Open any AI chat and just dump everything you need to do this week. Do not organise it — that is the AI's job. Messy is fine.

Start here
I am going to list everything on my plate this week, in no particular order. Do not respond yet — just wait until I say I am done, then help me make sense of it.

[start typing your list: work tasks, errands, calls, things you keep forgetting...]
Telling it to wait stops it jumping in half-way through your brain-dump.

Step 2 — Ask it to sort and prioritise

Once your list is out, ask the AI to turn the pile into an order. This is where it earns its keep.

Turn the pile into a plan
That is everything. Now help me plan the week. Group these into: Must do (time-sensitive), Should do (important but flexible), and Can wait. For anything that looks big, break it into a first small step I can actually start. Keep it short and easy to scan.
Breaking big tasks into a 'first small step' is the bit that makes a plan actually get started.

Step 3 — Spread it across the days

Now turn the priorities into an actual week, and be honest about how much fits.

Lay out the week
Lay this out across Monday to Friday. Do not overload any day — leave room for the unexpected. Put the hardest or most important thing early in the week, and tell me if it looks like too much for the time I have.
Asking it to flag an overloaded week is what stops the plan being a wish-list.

That is the whole move

You just did the thing that sits under most useful AI work: get everything out of your head, then let AI help you shape it. It works for planning a week, but also for writing a tricky email, thinking through a decision, or drafting anything from scratch. Dump first, shape second.

More like this, as we write it.
